How to paint the floor of a bathroom

If you are looking for a quick and easy upgrade for your bathroom, you might consider painting the floor. You can paint virtually any bathroom floor (perhaps with the exception of the carpet), from linoleum to cement tiles. This guide gives you the steps necessary to paint the floor of the bathroom.

Instructions :

  1. Repair and clean the floor of your bathroom. Caulks cracks and spaces around the bottom of the toilet, Lila linoleum, vinyl, tiles and hardwood floors, Clean the floor thoroughly.
  2. Apply a primer to the floor. Let the primer dry and then apply a second coat. Let this layer also dry.
  3. Paint a band around the outside edge of your bathroom to use as a guide as you paint the rest of the floor. Start painting in the far corner behind the door. Paint the door to avoid having to step on the areas already painted. Let the floor dry and apply a second coat. After the second coat has dried, it may be necessary to apply a third coat of paint.
  4. Once the floor is completely painted and dry, you can proceed to paint the templates or faux finish as desired.

  • Apply two coats of clear polyurethane, if desired.
